Attempted Armed-Robbery At Dollar General Store In Bloomington

(BLOOMINGTON) - A man walked to the check-out count at the Dollar General Store on West Third Street in Bloomington, pulled up his shirt showing a handgun and demanded the clerk give him the money in the register.

According to Bloomington police, the 43-year-old female clerk screamed and pushed a button to summon her manager. The man then fled without any cash.

The incident was reported at 5:20 p.m.

Police reviewed he surveillance video but the images were too blurry to help officers identify the man.

The clerk described the white man as around 30 years old, wearing a white t-shirt and a dark blue baseball cap.

Anyone with information about the attempted armed-robbery is asked to call the Bloomington Police Department.
