Last updated on Thursday, June 23, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police arrested two Detroit, Michigan men early Monday morning after they attempted to sell a stolen truck on Craigslist.

According to police, officers were alerted to the incident after a Bedford resident attempted to purchase the vehicle and became suspicious.

The resident went to the police station to have officers check the vehicle identification number that had been provided to him by the seller.

Police found out the 2006 Ford F250 had been stolen from Farmington Hills, Michigan on June 19.

Police arrested 43-year-old Michael Dantzel and 36-year-old Steven Stutts on charges of auto theft, receiving stolen property, and both for operating a vehicle while never licensed.

Stutts was driving the stolen truck when he arrived in Bedford to complete the sale. Dantzler was driving a different vehicle, and he too was found to be driving without ever having a driver's license.
