(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene County’s Richland Township Fire and Rescue removed one of its volunteer firefighters from service Friday after local officials learned he was arrested on charges of child molesting.
According to court documents, 37-year-old Adam B. Carver of Bloomfield was arrested on preliminary charges of one Class A and two Class C counts of felony child molestation.
As of Sunday afternoon, Carver remained in the Greene County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
"The moment we learned of his charges, he was immediately terminated from membership at this department, pending the resolution of his criminal cases," Chief Ken Hinkle said in an email.
Hinkle declined to comment further, citing the ongoing criminal investigation.
