Relay For Life Tops Goal Of $40,000

(BEDFORD) - The American Cancer Society Relay For Life - ‘Lights. Camera. Cure!’ - Saturday raised more than $40,000.

This year's survivor lap was led by the youngest grand marshal - 2-year-old Harper Howell. In December 2015, Howell, the daughter of James and Brandy Howell was diagnosed with Horner Syndrome. Her brother Michael Gabriel Howell, died from cancer in 2010.

But just because the walk is over, you can still donate for the Bedford walk until the end of the year.

On Saturday 22 teams and 274 participants raised $40,188.12

The winner of the best decorated tent went to Johnson Christian Academy with the theme of Wizard of Oz.

Bedford will host the Bark for Life Relay August 27th. The time and place will be announced at a later date.
