(PATOKA) - A forklift driver who describes himself as a “boring guy” is the latest Hoosier millionaire.
Gary Snow II bought a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $1 million at Trade Mart in the tiny town of Patoka more than three weeks ago. He had to wait a bit to claim his winning because he hadn't earned enough paid time off.
"I just started my job in November, and I didn't have PTO until today," said Snow. "I worked hard to get that job, and I'm not going to quit."
Snow said he doesn't have plans to change much after the win. Ideas for the money include things like a new home and a car.
"I'm looking at Camaros," he says.
He'll also seek out some professional guidance when it comes to handling his finances.
"I don't think I'll be able to use Turbo Tax this year," he joked.
Snow described the entire experience of winning as "surreal."
"At first, I just kept saying to myself 'I won a million dollars,' over and over," he says.
"There's a lot to think about when it happens," he said. "They say everything happens for a reason... well, I don't know, but it happened."
According to the lottery, Snow is the second player to claim a $1 million top prize in the $10 Multiplier Mania scratch-off game. An Anderson man won a $1 million prize on March 2.
