(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence School Board acted on a request by school board member Scott Gillespie to approve a corporation policy regarding criminal gangs and gang activity in schools.
The Times Mail reports that Gillespie is the chairman of a committee that developed the policy. The policy is mandated by state statue for schools to develop a corporation policy.
Both Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley and Lawrence County Sheriff Mike Branham provided input for the committee.
