Man Accused Of Raping, Murdering Shaylyn Ammerman To Appear In Court Today

Last updated on Thursday, June 2, 2016

(OWEN CO.) - The man accused of killing 15-month-old Shaylyn Ammerman will appear in court today for a pretrial conference.

Police say 22-year-old Kyle Parker took the toddler from her crib at her father's home after spending the night at a family party. He then brutally raped and killed the girl and dumped her body in a wooded area in Owen County.

Parker told investigators where to find the body and confessed to his stepfather that he'd killed the child.

In April, a not guilty plea was entered on Parker's behalf. A judge also ordered certain records related to the case to be sealed.

Parker's trial is scheduled for August.
