(OOLITIC) - The King family dominated the Oolitic Festival Idol with father Troy King and son Dakota King taking trophies and what made it even better was the awards were handed out by the Oolitic Festival Queen Sadie King.
Both Idol divisions were judged by David Vanlandingham, Johnny Niece and Michele Hardman. Judges for the Duet division were Larry Hardman, Mark Fugate and Tara Ramey.
Those claiming 1st, 2nd and third place received trophies. First place winners also receive Idol t-shirts and were interviewed by DJ Rick St. Nick on Super Oldies 105.5 WQRK. The Idol winner also sang the National Anthem at the fireworks Saturday night.
Morgan Gulley, 2015 Oolitic Youth Division Festival Idol, kicked off the 2016 contest by singing Independence Day.

In the Adult Division six competed for the title. Last year's Idol winner kicked off the Adult Division by signing the Fight Song
