(JUDAH) - The 12th Annual Judah Heritage Festival kicks off Thursday with three fun-filled days of activities.

There will be a Judah Jog 5K race, live music, food, flea market, cruise-in, carnival, games, beauty contest and more. The highlight will be a performance by Kentucky Headhunters, a parade Saturday afternoon and fireworks at dusk.

The 2016 edition of Judah's famous festival takes place outside Johnny Junxions.

Thursday is "Pink Out Night" and everyone is encouraged to wear pink.

Events will feature both a Judah Fest Queen competition (10 candidates) and Miss Pink Queen pageant. Miss Pink candidates must be age 40 or over. The purpose of that pageant is to raise money for breast cancer awareness, with all proceeds destined to assist cancer patients residing within the county.

Performing this year at the festival is nationally-renowned and Grammy Award-winning Kentucky Headhunters to Judah.

Festival organizer Larry Hardman is expecting big crowds this year.

The fest's entertainment ensemble kicks off Thursday night with the Backwoods Bluegrass Band. Then on Friday, Cody Ikerd takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. to warm up the crowd for the Headhunters.

Saturday's lineup also features two audience-attracting acts -- Sean Steele & Friends, followed by Sheila Stephen and the Rodeo Monkeys.

The Judah Idol and baby contests are slated for Saturday, and the popular 5K Run/Walk begins Saturday at 8 a.m. and will have around 100 people competing.

The annual car show starts at noon Saturday, with the annual parade through Judah to commence at 4:30 p.m.

Midway rides and games will be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday and will feature two new rides this year.

The festival will end with a colorful-bang with a fireworks show scheduled for approximately 10:15 p.m.

Ample parking will be available on site and a shuttle service will be provided from the parking lots to the main staging area.

Danny Henry, a veteran of the Judah Heritage Group, say the goal of the fest is to complete the shelter project.
