Bedford Man Injured After Vehicle Slams Into Guardrail

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was injured after the vehicle he was riding in slammed into a guardrail Saturday morning.

The crash took place on State Road 37 about 4,000 feet north of Fifth Street around 10:45 a.m..

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 29-year-old Derek Boone of Bedford complained of back pain.

Police say 32-year-old Matthew Chastain of Bedford was traveling northbound in his 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix driven on State Road 37 when he veered off the west side of the road. Chastain pulled the car back onto the roadway too quickly, causing the vehicle to spin. The rear of the vehicle then struck a guardrail injuring Boone.
