Two Decomposed Bodies Found In Monrovia Home

Last updated on Monday, May 30, 2016

(MORGAN CO.) - The Morgan County coroner has released new details after two bodies were found decomposed in a home near Monrovia on Saturday.

The two people, identified as boyfriend and girlfriend, were found dead on a couch in their living room, coroner Annette Rohlman says.

A family member coming to visit the couple in their home in the 8700 block of Briarwood Lake Court smelled a strong odor and called 911. Sheriff's deputies arrived around 12:45 p.m. and found the two bodies "badly decomposed." They are believed to have been dead for about two weeks.

Rohlman said the deaths are "most likely accidental" and no foul play is suspected. They appear to have died at the same time, according to Rohlman.

The woman was identified as 49-year-old Venita Sanders, but Rohlman said authorities are struggling to identify the man.
