Springville Woman Arrested After Monroe County Deputy Finds Drugs In Trunk

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Springville woman was arrested after police find drugs in trunk of vehicle.

During the traffic stop over an expired license plate, Monroe County deputies seized 195 grams of marijuana, 41 grams of meth and Suboxone.

Police arrested 22-year-old Danielle M. Chance on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana after she claimed the drugs were hers.

A Monroe County Sheriff's Department deputy stopped the 2000 maroon Oldsmobile on West Ind. 46 near Ind. 37 at 1:39 a.m. Tuesday.

The deputy reported smelling the odor of marijuana coming from the car and searched it.

The deputy first found small pieces of marijuana and seeds in the passenger compartment, then moved to the trunk where he found the bulk of the drugs.

The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended.
