Last updated on Thursday, May 12, 2016

(ORLEANS) - The Orleans High School social studies team was named Class 4 State Champions at the Indiana Academic Super Bowl held at Purdue University on Saturday.

The Bulldogs correctly answered 22 of 25 questions to lead the field of all four classes and take first place overall.

The 2016 theme, Hoosier Heritage, focused on the first 100 years of Indiana statehood, the Civil War era, the KKK of the 1920s, Gov. Paul McNutt, and the Studebaker Corp.

All questions for the round were written by retired history teacher, Don Hanlin. At the conclusion of the round, he presented the team with a model 1950 Studebaker Champion for having the highest score in the state final round.
