Last updated on Monday, May 16, 2016

(SEYMOUR) - An Ohio woman was injured after she crashed her motorcycle on I-65 on Friday.

According to an Indiana State Police report, 65-year-old Linda Ramey of Mansfield, Ohio was operating a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on I-65 when she attempted to exit the interstate onto State Route 11 at exit 55 and lost control of her motorcycle on the exit ramp when the bike hit loose gravel. The motorcycle skidded off the roadway and down an embankment. Ramey was thrown from the motorcycle.

Ramey suffered abrasions and possibly a broken arm. She was transported to Schneck Medical Center for treatment.

Ramey was wearing a helmet and protective clothing during the crash which is believed to be responsible for preventing more serious injuries.

The I-65 northbound exit ramp to State Route 11 was shut down for a short time for crash cleanup.

The investigation is ongoing.

Trooper Deaton was assisted by Jackson County EMS and Howard's Wrecker Service.
