(MITCHELL) - Mitchell hires three new police officers.
They are Blackburn, Seth Porter and Shaun Cabral - all from Lawrence County.
According to Mitchell Police Chief Steve Blair, once the officers complete their training and begin patrols, the department will have six-full time officers.
Blackburn is currently at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He will start his duties after he completes his training.
Porter was hired in March. The 26-year-old was in U.S. Air Force Security Forces for six years. He will go to the Indiana Training Academy later in the year.
Shaun Cabral was hired this month and will begin in June. He has 7 years experience from the U.S. Air Force Security Forces.
