(BLOOMFIELD) - The Miss Greene County contest will be held June 26 at 7 p.m. at the Greene County Event Center, the former site of the 4-H building.
Applicants need to be 18 on or before January 1, 2017 and no older than 22 by June 1 2017. Deadline for entry is June 1.
The winner and her court will receive a scholarship, along with numerous gift baskets, and the newly crowned queen will go to the state competition in January. The state competition is held each year at the Indiana State Fair, and the winner, as Miss Indiana, will begin her paid reign in January of 2017, touring the state for various events.
"We would like to see the Miss Greene County competition grow, because as ir does, the prizes just keep getting bigger." said Shelly Carrico of one of the event's sponsors, Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance.
