Lawrence County Council Approves Staff Changes

(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council approved several offices to replace employees.

County Clerk Myron Rainey sought permission to replace longtime staff member Janie Hill, who is retiring after 3 years of service. Her final day will be June 23.

The council authorized:

• Sheriff Mike Branham to replace a correction officer.
• Approved a request by Assessor April Stapp Collins to fill a vacancy in her department.
• Granted Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins to replace a bailiff.
• Authorized Chief Public Defender David Shircliff to replace both a part-time and full-time attorney
• Allocated $1,080 so the Lawrence County Soil and Water District could hire a summer intern.
