Hub Restaurant Sells To Owners Of Keg Liquor

Last updated on Saturday, May 14, 2016

(MITCHELL) - Howard and Nadya Hinman, owners of the Hub, have sold the Restaurant in Mitchell to the proprietors of the Keg Liquor Store in Mitchell - currently located across the street from the Hub.

The new owners have acquired proper clearance to relocate the Keg Liquor Store business to the Hub building. They hope to be open in June after renovations.

It is Howard and Nadya's understanding that there will not be a restaurant on the premise in the short term, but that the new owners will later consider the future use of the original portion of the building which includes the kitchen and original dining room.

The sale included only the empty building and the lot it occupies and the couple have moved all equipment and restaurant fixtures into storage and will be attempting to sell it (hopefully in a bundle) during the upcoming months.

They are interested in trading this large amount of equipment for a nice boat should anyone express interest in such.

While the couple have been through a lot of heartbreak given the thefts and challenges that came with trying to re-establish the Hub in the Mitchell community providing a past icon and jobs, they were equally touched in positive ways by those who came forward to help and support them in their journey and are very thankful for such.

One former Hub general manager Tammy Mann, who the Hinman's had placed their trust, has been charged with felony theft after stealing from the business. That case is pending.

The Hineman's reside in Bloomington and both have careers that prevented them from being able to spend time at the Hub, thus requiring them to place their trust to Mann to run the business in others which proved to be inadequate.

Howard grew up in Mitchell and is a graduate of Mitchell High School. They will have no further involvement in the Hub and wish the citizens of Mitchell and their wonderful former customers the best in life.
