(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County taxpayers are reminded the first installment of property taxes is due by Tuesday, May 10th.
Payments postmarked or made in person after May 10th will automatically incur a penalty.
The Treasurer's office will be closed today for voting.
Current tax information may be found online at www.lawrencetax.net or http://lawrencein.egis.39dn.com/#.
Please remember the Courthouse has a security screening process and you must enter through the north doors.
The Treasurer's office will be closed following the May 10th deadline to complete on time mail posting. It will re-open Friday, May 20th.
Lawrence County will hold their 2016 Tax Sale on Wednesday, September 21st. Properties three or more installments in arrears will be certified for the Tax Sale the morning of July 1st. Following the July certification, the property must be paid current to remove the property from the Tax Sale.
