(WASHINGTON) - A drug investigation Sunday morning ended with the recovery of numerous types of narcotics, firearms, and a Washington resident arrested on 10 different criminal charges.

Indiana State Troopers arrested 38-year-old Steven Lyford, of Washington, on felony charges of dealing meth, possession of meth over 10 grams, possession of heroin, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of stolen firearms, neglect of a dependent, maintaining a common nuisance and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and false informing.

Early Sunday morning, Trooper Mitch Wier began an investigation into possible drug activity at 1776 Maxwell Avenue in Washington. Trooper Wier, after obtaining enough information and probable cause, applied for a search warrant through the Daviess County Circuit Court. After receiving the warrant, Wier, with members of the Washington Police Department and Daviess County Sheriff's Department, searched Lyford's home.

During the search, officers found an estimated 14 grams of meth, approximately 17 grams of marijuana, small amounts of heroin and morphine, and 31 firearms. Of the guns seized, one handgun was entered into computers as stolen through Knox County.

Officers later learned that Lyford had in fact been dealing meth.

Lyford was transported to the Daviess County Security Center, without incident.
