(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Urban Enterprise Association agreed to establishment of five $5,000 scholarship to be given to students who live in the zone.

The Times-Mail reports that if all of the details can be worked out, scholarships will be given to high school seniors who live within the zone boundary starting with the 2017 graduating class.

The board also agreed to donate $1,000 to Lawrence County Safe Night and agreed to make the donation yearly, so the board would not have to approve it each year.

They also agreed to give the Bedford Lions Club $3,000 for spraying for mosquitoes.
