(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police have confirmed the human remains discovered at a mobile home park in October 2014 belong to a 21-year-old homeless man.
Police believe the remains of Taz Earl Hughes were placed in a plastic tote and concealed under the mobile home before being discovered by a scrap metal crew that was dismantling the vacant trailer.
Hughes was last seen alive on July 30, 2014 around 7 p.m.
The remains were found in a vacant lot at Arlington Valley Mobile Home Park on North Willis Drive.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Joe Quarters at approximately 11:08 a.m. October 23, 2014 by the property manager saying the crew had found the body inside a plastic tote. Police say the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition and had been in the tote for about two to three months.
The remains were transported to the University of Indianapolis where personnel from the Anthropology Department assisted in the identification and a possible cause of death.
