Bloomfield Police Department Has New Reserve Officer, New Patrol Car

Last updated on Wednesday, May 11, 2016

(BLOOMFIELD) - Bloomfield Police Department has a new reserve officer and will be receiving a new patrol car from On Duty Depot.

The vehicle will include lights and a computer console.

Town Marshal Kenny Tharp says the $4,100 contract was the cheapest, and offered a better computer console.

Michelle Weaver, an eastern Greene County native, is the newest reserve officer. She has completed the 40-hour pre-basic training and the physical training test.

The town marshal reminds residents that s all golf cart permits from last year have expired, and residents need to renew the permits to legally drive golf carts in town.

The department will also be enforcing the use of parking meters once again. Town employees will be "paying more attention" to the meters, so people parking downtown should remember to have their quarters and dimes on hand.
