(BEDFORD) - A Bloomfield man was arrested after he allegedly got into a verbal fight with his sister and that fight turned physical.
Lawrence County officers were called to a home in the 580 block of Sugar Hill Addition just after 1 p.m. Sunday after a woman called police to report that her brother had injured her.
According to Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, the argument turned physical when 27-year-old Michael Noel allegedly kicked his sister in the thigh while trying to kick a clothes basket from her hands.
"The victim states Noel hit her on the chest causing pain, tenderness and redness," Shoults says. "While she was attempting to call for help, Mr. Noel attempted to knock the phone from her hand to prevent her from completing the 911 call."
Nole was arrested on a charge of domestic battery and other unlisted charges.
The woman did not seek medical treatment following the incident.
