Bedford Police Investigating Stabbing At Shorty's Bar & Grill

Last updated on Tuesday, May 24, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Police Department is investigating a stabbing that happened during the early morning hours Saturday at Shorty’s Bar & Grill.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the rear parking lot of the bar just after 1 a.m.

That is where they found Keith McVicker in a vehicle suffering from a knife wound to the head. He told police he had been jumped by three men.

According to Chief Parsley, McVicker says he was outside talking to a man that he did not know.

That man then punched McVicker in the face, knocking him to the ground.

"That is when another man jumped on him and began punching him," Chief Parsley says. "Mr. McVicker attempted to block those punches and that is when the man pulled out a knife and slashed Mr. McVicker on the head."

The men then fled in a white car.

McVicker posted on social media that he is still in a lot of pain and suffered broken bones but is doing okay.

"I am hoping those that are responsible are charged with attempted murder," he wrote in his post.

The case is still under investigation and any one with information is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at (812) 275-3311.
