(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington woman was injured after a deer ran in front of the vehicle she was in, causing the driver to crash.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, the accident happened at 12:49 p.m. Saturday on South Guthrie Road.

Police say 33-year-old Jason Nelk of Freetown was traveling south on Guthrie Road when a deer ran in front of his 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck.

Nelk swerved to miss the deer and crashed into a tree.

Nelk was not injured, but his passenger, 30-year-old Sarah Eads, complained of knee and leg pain. A family member took Eads to IU Bloomington Health Hospital for treatment.
