White River Valley Antique Association Swap Meet Saturday In Elnora

Last updated on Friday, April 1, 2016

(ELNORA) - The White River Valley Antique Association grounds in Elnora will be bustling with activity this Saturday for the annual swap meet, now in its 13th year.

The swap meet will kick off at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the antique association grounds just south of the Daviess County Fairgrounds.

Featuring dozens of sellers, the swap meet is a sister event to the annual White River Valley Antique Association Antique Show held in September. From books and manuals to tractor parts and antiques, collectibles and household items., the show offers something for everyone.

Ben Chestnut, one of the event organizers says, the show offers something for everyone from toy dealers, tractors, tractor parts, garden tractors and parts for them, hit and miss gas engines and tools for the men and books and household items and other treasures that are sure to interest the ladies.

Chestnut says it is hard to determine exactly what the swap meet will have to offer because vendors set up the day of the event.

Vendors do not have to register for their space ahead of time. The cost is $20.

Food, coffee and other refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Also the day of the swap meet, the local blacksmith group will have the blacksmith shop open and doing demonstrations. The White River Valley Antique Association Machine Shop will also be open and running.

There is no admission fee for those coming to browse the selections.

The 32nd annual Antique Association Antique Show is slated for September 8-11 at the association grounds. The show, which draws over 17,000 visitors each year, will feature engines, tractors, trucks, steam engines, several vintage farm related demonstrations, flea markets and more.
