(BEDFORD) - Each year United Way 2-1-1 helps thousands of people connect with local, state, and government resources to meet their needs. 2-1-1 continues to make connections in the community by linking callers in need with valuable resources.

United Way 2-1-1 connects residents in 9 south central Indiana counties (Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Orange, Scott, and Washington) with comprehensive and up-to-date information about basic health and human needs including: governmental services, health services, and social services.

In the first quarter, 2-1-1 received 68 requests for service from Lawrence County and provided 217 referrals.

Lawrence County residents called with the following top three requests:

There were 10 Unmet Needs for the quarter. The majority of Unmet Needs were Utility Assistance requests at 3 Unmet Services. Most of the Unmet Services resulted from the caller not being eligible.
