(ORLEANS) - “ORLEANS: Little Town, Big Heart” 48th Annual Orleans Dogwood Festival is April 27-30.
Nationally know Tim Lovelace will deliver the Orleans Dogwood Vesper Service this year. As a nationally sought after comedian, musician and motivational speaker, Lovelace has been described as the most versatile comedian on stage today. His award-winning musical talents, coupled with his crystal clean humor have people of all ages laughing.
Normally the Vesper Service is held at the end of the festival, but this year officials are opening the festival with the event on Sunday April 24 at 6 p.m. at Unity Hall.
All area churches are encouraged to dismiss their evening service and join in this special community event.
The Vesper Service is sponsored by both the Orleans Ministerial Association and the Dogwood Festival Committee.
Some other events include the Dogwood Art Walk which will feature exhibition of visual arts created by local artistic residents from Orange County and it's immediate surrounding communities, with a special emphasis on artists from Orleans.
This year's Dogwood Art Walk will be held on Thursday, April 28 and Friday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. behind the Orleans Christian Church in the OCC Community Building (large brick building on S. 2nd Street between W. Jackson & W. Vincennes St.)
While there, make sure you check out the Silent Auction.
And of course no festival is complete with out a parade, which will step-off at 2 p.m. on Historic Maple Street (SR 37). Immediately after the parade Sweet Water band will play on the Main Stage.
