(SPENCER) - Following an investigation, detectives from the Owen County Sheriff’s Department, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police and the Indiana State Police arrested 44-year-old Barney C. Sipes of Spencer on Monday morning at the Patriot Inn.
Sipes is facing felony charges of attempted child molesting and solicitation.
Sipes was arrested after the Owen County Sheriff's Department received information in early April from a confidential informant who advised him that Barney Sipes from Spencer was willing to pay money to have sex with a girl who was around ten years of age.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and no other information could be released at this time.
