(BEDFORD) - State Rep. Eric Koch has been "A" rated and endorsed by the National Rifle Association PVF in the Republican primary for the Senate in District 44.

He is running for the seat currently held by Senator Brent Steele, who is retiring at the end of his term this year.

"During his tenure as an Indiana State Representative, Eric Koch consistently voted for NRA-supported, pro-gun reforms that protect and strengthen your Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage," The NRA said in its endorsement announcement. "Support the candidate with a proven record of fighting for your rights! Encourage your family, friends and fellow gun owners to do the same."

"It is a great honor to be recognized through this endorsement for my work on behalf of Indiana's law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen," said Rep. Koch.

A graduate of Georgetown University and Indiana University School of Law, Koch is an attorney in private practice and a small business owner.  An eighth-generation Hoosier, he and his wife Connie, a teacher at Shawswick Elementary, have three sons.

Senate District 44 includes all or parts of Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe counties.

Paid for by the Senate Majority Campaign Committee and authorized by Eric Koch for State Senate.
