Last updated on Thursday, April 7, 2016

(SEYMOUR) - Seymour police are warning women after two separate purse snatchings from shopping carts.

Police say women should carry their purses at all times if possible.

If not, police are urging women to use the child security straps on shopping carts to secure their purses or to not bring their purses into stores while shopping.

At 7:55 p.m. Monday, a woman reported someone had taken her purse while she was at Walmart at 1600 E. Tipton Street. At 10:03 p.m. Monday, a second woman reported her purse had been taken while shopping at the same store.

Anyone with information about either incident should contact Seymour Police Department at (812) 522-1234.
