Last updated on Monday, April 4, 2016

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County police are investigating an incident where a gun displayed and stolen vehicle recovered.

According to Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, officers were called to a home in Sugar Hill Addition after receiving a call from a man saying two men entered his brother's home and one was armed with a pistol.

Officers spoke to the caller and discovered that he was intoxicated. They then spoke to the homeowner.

"The homeowner was vague about anything that had taken place at the home and knowing anything about any suspects that might have been at the home with a firearm," Shoults added. "But while at the residence the officers noticed a white Ford truck parked in the driveway. The homeowner told officers it was there when he got home and he knew nothing about it."

Officers ran the vehicle identification number and learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Marion County.

"The vehicle was towed and secured and the officers are following up today on the original call and the stolen vehicle," Shoults added."
