Last updated on Monday, April 11, 2016

(WASHINGTON) - A Daviess Superior Court jury spent more than 10 hours deliberating Friday before deciding 56-year-old Armando Bruno Morales guilty on all four counts of molesting a boy in his congregation.

The verdict came in at about 9 p.m. The jury of nine men and three women found Morales guilty on for two counts of Class A felony child molesting and two counts of Class C felony child molesting. He will be sentenced by Judge Dean Sobecki on June 2.

Deputy Prosecutor Donita Farr says the victim received justice. Defense attorney Mike Chestnut plans to appeal the verdict.

During the trial the jury was told that Morales lived with the victim's family while they began a church together. The boy claimed that during that time Morales performed a deviate sexual act on him, but when the boy's father confronted the minister, he denied it and claimed the boy was possessed by the devil.
