(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after he allegedly injured his father during a domestic fight on Sunday.

According to Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, the father came to the police station around 1 p.m. to report the battery, but refused to file charges and returned home.

Then at 2:27 p.m. the father called police requesting an officer to his home in the 820 block of Clark Smith Road because his 30-year-old was out of control and had stomped on his foot.

"There was a verbal confrontation and the father wanted to file battery charges," Chief Deputy Shoults says. "A battery affidavit was signed and the suspect was arrested."

Police arrested Kyle Edwards on charges of battery.

The father suffered pain to his foot but refused medical attention.
