Kids Health And Safety Fair Saturday In Linton

(LINTON) - The Greene County Alliance for Networking and Growth (GCA) is hosting a Kids Health and Safety Fair Saturday, April 23.

GCA Chairperson Debra Hoesman told Sabrina Westfall of the Greene County Daily World that the event has been ongoing for about 15 years, and this year has switched from a fall event to spring. This event is titled "Health Happy Hoosiers," which is a part of the celebration of Indiana's Bicentennial.

The goal is to provide information to area children and there families about Greene County programs, as well as remind families about safety all while having some fun.

This year's free event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Linton First Baptist Church.

A variety of vendors and health screening. Informational booths will also include topics such as where certain services or items can be obtained for children and babies. There will also be vendors on hand to discuss the variety of things children can do for entertainment in the area.

In addition to discussing health, some law enforcement professionals will be on hand to discuss overall safety, as well as car seat safety.

Children and their families will also be able to learn more about the State of Indiana, as materials about the state will be available on behalf of the Bicentennial Commission.

"One of our biggest draws is the prizes," Hoesman said. "We will have family-centered prize packages."
Among those prizes are expected to be a movie night, tickets to local events and possibly bowling games.
