Last updated on Tuesday, April 19, 2016

(BEDFORD) - The Indiana Chamber of Commerce announced its endorsement of Chris May (R-Bedford) for the Republican primary election to the Indiana House of Representatives, District 65.

The endorsement was made by Indiana Business for Responsive Government (IBRG), the non-partisan political program of the Indiana Chamber.

"Indiana needs knowledgeable and determined leaders at the Statehouse and the Indiana Chamber is proud to endorse Chris May for the Indiana House," said Jeff Brantley, vice president of political affairs for the Indiana Chamber. "We believe Chris May has the experience and background to be a champion for free enterprise principles and a very effective legislator for the people of his district."

"I am honored to be endorsed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce," said Chris May. "As a small business owner, I understand the struggles businesses face every day. As a state representative, I will do everything I can to be an advocate for job creators and entrepreneurs. It is crucial that we create an environment for business to thrive, creating jobs for all of us. "

Chris May is running for the Republican primary election in May for the House District 65 seat currently held by Rep. Eric Koch, who is not seeking House reelection to run for the state Senate. House District 65 includes all of Brown County, most of Lawrence County and portions of Jackson, Johnson and Monroe counties.

Chris May is a small business owner and three-term Lawrence County Commissioner. A graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and Vincennes University, May currently works at Whitney Tool as a sales engineer and owns and operates Hoosier Tech Properties, a small business providing residential housing.

The Indiana Chamber partners with 24,000 members and investors - representing over four million Hoosiers - to achieve the mission of "cultivating a world-class environment which provides economic opportunity and prosperity."

Paid for by Indiana Business for Responsive Government and authorized by Committee to Elect Chris May for State Representative District 65.
