Hoosiers Can Celebrate The Life Of Prince At Indiana University Cinema With Viewing Of 'Purple Rain'

(BLOOMINGTON) - Hoosiers wanting to celebrate the life of Prince now can with the viewing of the iconic rock-star’s film ‘Purple Rain’.

The Indiana University Cinema will be screening 'Purple Rain' three times on May 2.

The film features Prince playing The Kid, a young Minneapolis rock star facing personal and professional struggles. The film features the songs from the album 'Purple Rain' and performances by Prince, Morris Day and Apollonia.

The screenings are free and begin at 5 pm on May 2.

"We mourn the passing of an incomparable artist," said the IU cinema in a statement. "He was a singular visionary talent whose music, style, and films defined a generation."
