(WASHINGTON) - The Daviess County Advisory Plan Commission unanimously approved a change to the county's comprehensive land plan.

Mike Grant of the Washington Times Herald reports, the changes center on a 20-square-mile area around the intersection of I-69 and U.S. 50 on the east side of Washington.

The plan covers several properties that have been cited for potential development. The area around Washington is bounded by County Road 150 South, County Road 350 East, County Road 200 East and County Road 250 North.

It also includes the potential for the opening of a new interchange on I-69 at County Road 200 North that would connect to State Road 57.

Projects outside of Washington includes potential development of roads and property near I-69 and State Road 58.

Another element of the plan calls of the formation of a Daviess Joint Development and Planning Authority. T

The changes will now go to the Daviess County Commissioners, where they will either be added to the comprehensive land plan or rejected.
