Congressman Todd Young Coordinating Exhibition For High School Artists

Last updated on Monday, April 18, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Congressman Todd Young (R-IN) added a twist to the 2016 Congressional Art Competition by coordinating a public art exhibition for high school artists in Indiana’s 9th Congressional District.

Each year, Congressman Young invites high school students to showcase their artistic ability by participating in the Congressional Art Competition. In prior years, Rep. Young has displayed students' artwork at his three Constituent Service Centers as well as online in a digital album available on the official Facebook page.

This year, students who wish to participate can have their entry displayed in an art exhibition open to the public at the Indiana University Art Museum gallery. Any assistance in notifying the community about the opportunity to view the students' art is greatly appreciated.

The exhibition will run at IU's Art Museum gallery from April 23, through May 7.

A winning entry will be selected by a panel of professional artists from Indiana's 9th District at a reception held on the evening of Saturday, May 7, at the Indiana University Art Museum.

In June of 2016, the winning artist will be flown to Washington, D.C. to attend the National Art Competition reception and have her or his artwork displayed at the United States Capitol for one year.
