City of Bloomington Co-Sponsors "Autism in Love" Documentary And Panel Discussion

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department, Indiana Resource Center for Autism, Indiana University Center on Community Living and Careers and WTIU are co-sponsoring “Autism in Love”, the acclaimed documentary film featured on the PBS show “Independent Lens” on Saturday April 23, at 2:30 pm in City Hall Council Chambers, Suite 115, 401 N. Morton Street, Bloomington, Indiana.

Educators, family members, parents, caregivers, adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the general public are welcome to attend this highly acclaimed, insightful, and touching documentary which brings awareness to the challenges of dating and love for people who have an autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

"Autism in Love" is an emotional look into the lives of four people with ASD who share their frustrations, pain, and successes in trying to find, date, love, and connect to someone who understands and appreciates them. Special guests Lindsey Nebeker and Dave Hamrick, a couple featured in the film will answer questions following the film.

Doors will open at 2 p.m. Questions and answers with Ms. Nebeker and Mr. Hamrick will follow at 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free, but seating is limited.
