Bloomington To Host "Navigating The Caregiver Challenge, Part 2" Forum

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department is hosting the “Navigating the Caregiver Challenge, Part 2” on Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Showers City Hall, Atrium and Council Chambers, 401 N. Morton Street.

"Navigating the Caregiver Challenge, Part 2" will bring community members together in a forum discussing the challenges and answering questions associated with caregiving for both older adults and for people with disabilities. Panelists, who have experienced caregiving firsthand, will briefly discuss how community members can support each other with advice, words of wisdom, and suggestions for resources. Panel topics for the event will include Care for People with Disabilities, 9:10 - 10:40 a.m. (Building Support, Encouraging Independence, and Self-Care/Respite), and Elder Care, 10:50 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. (Wellness, Mental Health, and Medication Management).

While the forum is free, registration is encouraged (online at http://tinyurl.com/2016Caregiver2). This forum will be appropriate for anyone who is a caregiver whether or not they are currently experiencing challenges.

"Navigating the Caregiver Challenge, Part 2" is sponsored by the City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department with support from the Area 10 Agency on Aging, Stone Belt, LIFEDesigns, City of Bloomington Council for Community Accessibility, and City of Bloomington Commission on Aging.
