Last updated on Monday, April 25, 2016

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was injured after her vehicle was struck in the rear on Ind. 37 near Pinewood Drive Saturday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 61-year-old Jackie Vaungh of Bloomington told police he was traveling south on Ind. 37 going around 55 miles per hour and told police he was not expecting traffic to slow so far from the stop light.

Police say as Vaughn approached the slowed traffic he was going too fast to stop. He hit his brakes but was unable to stop his 2000 Ford Ranger before colliding into the rear of a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo driven by 67-year-old Linda Bex.

Vaughn was not injured. Bex complained of neck pain following the incident.
