Bedford Woman Arrested After Police Find Drugs In Car

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after police found numerous drugs in her vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, an officer noticed the driver of a white Ford Escape nearly caused an accident at the intersection of Ind. 37 and Ind. 58.

"The officer then followed the vehicle to see what was going on and stopped the driver just behind Dunham's," Parsley says.

A K-9 unit alerted police to drugs in the driver's side door.

There officers found a metal box that contained a substance that tested positive for marijuana and a smoking device. Inside that smoking device police found residue that tested positive for cocaine.

Police arrested 55-year-old Marsha Tincher of Bedford.

Inside her purse officers also found numerous prescription pills that she did not have a prescription for.

Tincher is facing charges of possession of a legend drug, marijuana, cocaine, controlled substances and drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
