Bedford Man Arrested After Selling Suboxone From His Home

Last updated on Monday, April 18, 2016

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Thursday on a warrant claiming he was selling Suboxone.

Suboxone is a prescription medicine used for treatment of opioid dependence.

The Lawrence County Drug Task Force says 40-year-old Matthew Gater was dealing the Schedule III controlled substance out of his home.

Gater is facing charges of dealing a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.

According to police on December 18 a confidential informant went to Gater's home in the 1500 block of 16th Street near the Bedford Middle School and purchased the drug from Gater. Then on January 4, the same informant told police Gater was wanting to sell more Suboxone strips for $30. Police provided the informant with cash and a recording device for both drug buys.
