Bedford Man Arrested After Injuring Woman In Front Of Her Children

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after he allegedly hit a woman in front of her three children.

Lawrence County police arrested 36-year-old Jeremie True, of 4222 South Leatherwood Rd., on charges of battery in the presence of a minor.

According to Sheriff Mike Branham, dispatched received a call on Thursday from True's home, but on one was on the line, but there was screaming in the background.

Officers went to the home and found a woman with bruising and cuts around her neck and head. She had red marks on her neck, head legs and back.

She was taken to an area hospital for treatment and then to the sheriff's department for a statement and photos.

Jail officials say, True is being held without bond because he was out on parole at the time of this incident.
