2016 Indiana State Festival Association Queen To Attend Dogwood Festival Friday

(ORLEANS) - The newly crowned 2016 Indiana State Festival Association (ISFA) Queen Mariah Kagels will be visiting the Orleans Dogwood Festival Friday night.

The 18-year-old Kagels hails from Covington and is a 2016 graduate of Covington High School. She will be attending Indiana University East in Richmond, Indiana in the fall of 2016 and pursuing a degree in nursing to later obtain a career as a flight nurse.

Kagels says she is looking forward to a great year traveling to all of the state's festivals and pageants the ISFA beginning with a visit to "Indiana's Dogwood Capital, which annually host one of the state's earliest and popular springtime festival.

Robert F. Henderson, Exec. Director of Orleans Chamber of Commerce says, Kagels accompanied by her mother will be in attendance for the various events planned in the historic town park square Friday night.

"The Dogwood Festival has been a longtime and active member of the ISFA participating in its activities throughout the year and we are indeed honored to be able to host this year's reigning festival queen." He added.
