West Boggs Names New Park Superintendent

Last updated on Thursday, March 3, 2016

(LOOGOOTEE) - West Boggs Park has a new Park Superintendent.

Jameson Hibbs, who was the former assistant to the late Mike Axsom, has officially taken over the reins of running the park.

The Washington Times Herald says Hibbs has been with the park since August.

Hibbs is currently working on a master plan for the park and other improvements including constructing a play ground that is ADA compliant and working on upgrades and improvements to Wi-Fi at the park.

Hibbs says that one of his goals is to not only keep the many visitors from around the state coming back, but also to offer more day to day amenities to attract locals to the park on a regular basis.

Hibb reminds everyone that fishing is back big time this year after 2014's lake drain to rid the lake of the invasive and destructive gizzard shad.

One long term goal Hibbs has is to construct an amphitheatre in the park for programs and concerts.
