Volunteers Needed For Walk To End Alzheimer's

Last updated on Tuesday, March 15, 2016

(BLOOMINGTON) - Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter is actively recruiting volunteers to be a part of a movement to reclaim the future for millions by participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The 2016 Bloomington Walk will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, at Bryan Park, located at 1000 S. Woodlawn Ave.

"Alzheimer's disease is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed," said Development Specialist Lauren Lay. "Now is the time for Bloomington to unite in the fight against Alzheimer's disease and take action by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer's. We need committed leaders to step up to make the 2016 Bloomington Walk a community success."

Alzheimer's disease is a growing epidemic and is the nation's sixth-leading cause of death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease will rapidly escalate. More than 5 million Americans currently live with Alzheimer's, including 110,000 Hoosiers.
