Last updated on Wednesday, March 9, 2016

(SPENCER) - Two men were arrested after they were caught breaking into Weaver’s Auto Sales on State Road 46 in Spencer on Sunday morning.

According to an Indiana State Police report, police were contacted just before 7 a.m. on Sunday.

An employee called 911 reporting that he was inside an office area when he heard noises outside making him believe someone was attempting to break into vehicles outside of the business or break into the building.

While talking to the 911 operator, the caller heard glass break near where he was inside the office. After the window was broken, the perpetrator moved the blinds and made eye contact with the caller who was still on the phone with the 911 operator.

The caller was able to give Spencer Deputy Marshal Terry Sips a description of two white males he saw run from the area.

Spencer Police, Owen County Sheriff deputies and Indiana State Police troopers immediately set up a perimeter around the business.

Shortly thereafter, two white males fitting the description given by the caller was found east of Spencer on Flatwoods Road by Marshals Sips and Ryan Bonebrake.

At first the two men refused to cooperate or give police their names.

They were later identified at 18-year-old Sean Robinson of Westfield and 20-year-old Tyler Crawford of Noblesville.

Police were able to connect the two men to other criminal activities in Spencer.

The night before this burglary, the men allegedly stole credit cards from a home on Washington Street and had used them at various businesses throughout the night resulting in a spree of purchases at Circle K East, Speedway Station, Walmart, Circle K West, Babb's Supermarket, Stafford's Liquor Store and McDonald's.

Police arrested Robinson and Crawford on charges of burglary, theft, fraud, unauthorized vehicle entry, false informing, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

Officers assisting Deputy Marshal Terry Sips throughout the course of the investigation were Chief Rich Foutch, Deputy Marshals Marty Workman, Ryan Bonebrake and Tony Stevens, Owen County Sheriff's Deputies Ryan Combs and John Lowder and Indiana State Police Trooper Ryan White along with the Owen County Prosecutor's Office.
